Gravesham U13s played North Kent in a repeat of last seasons Kent Cup semi final, and the game took a similar path with half chances at either end, but neither team unable to break the deadlock. After 20 minutes the game remained at stalemate until from a quick short corner a long shot from the angle flew into the far corner of the Gravesham net to put North Kent 1-0 up.
The response was almost instant, with Danny Parish going 1 on 1 with the keeper and coolly slotting in to equalise. Half time arrived and after a much needed water break due to the searing heat, Gravesham stepped up the pressure in the second half and after 7mins were rewarded after Parish turned provider and Dwain Hicks fired home for a 2-1 lead. Five minutes later North Kent were level and they started to dominate the game. This was followed up with a 3rd and 4th to go 4-2 up. Gravesham to their credit did not give up and continued to fight back and from a throw the ball fell to harlie Busby to loop over the keeper to make it 4-3. Gravesham were further presented with a couple of opportunities in the last minute, but were unable to convert.
It was a hard fought game, in extremely hot conditions, but both sides played the game in the right spirit and provided a highly entertaining encounter.
