U12's v East Sussex - 10th December

Gravesham U12s were at home to East Sussex on frosty Saturday morning. Gravesham started the match brightly and within two minutes Jack Conway had broken away and successfully went past the opposition goalkeeper before seeing his goal-bound atempt cleared by a retreating defender. Gravesham enjoyed a lot of possession but found it difficult to break down a well organised East Sussex defence. After 15 minutes East Sussex broke away and only a fine diving save from Jack Morrison prevented the visitors taking the lead. From the resulting corner Gravesham's goalkeeper was forced to make another fine save. With five minutes of the first half remaining Luke Carey took a corner which resulted in Rajuan Miah striking the ball well into the bottom corner of the net to present Gravesham with a 1-0 lead at half time. Within five minutes of the second half Gravesham nearly increased their lead when a through ball by Danny Peen was nearly converted by JeffreyWorifah. Two minutes later did increase their lead when Jeffrey Worifah scored following an excellent pass from Henry Arnold. Gravesham then enjoyed a period of domination but were unable to capitalise on a number of chances. However, in the last period of the match East Sussex looked the more dangerous side and they scored in the last minute of the match to make the final score 2-1 to Gravesham.
